Prayer service

❤️ Nowadays, more and more people are seeking help in overcoming addictions to various chemical substances, emotional states, or informational-visual resources and devices. Among the most common problems are alcohol, tobacco, drugs, eating disorders (addiction to sweets, overeating), dependence on benzodiazepines (medications prescribed for anxiety, depression, or sleep disorders), adult content, gambling, technology addictions, codependency, and neurotic dysfunctional relationships.

Key emotional and psychological factors underlying many addictions – both substance-related and behavioral – include loneliness, sadness, lack of self-worth, trauma, self-sabotage, distress, and lack of emotional stability. On a spiritual level, these are hopelessness, a disconnect from personal values, faith, and God.

This is a complex problem, and people in such a state are not helped by condemnation and reproach. They require the assistance of qualified professionals, but most importantly, the support of family, friends, the community, and fervent, heartfelt prayer.

With Archbishop Kyrill's blessing, our Holy Virgin Cathedral of SF will hold a monthly Prayer Service (Moleben) for those suffering from addictions before the Icon of the Mother of God, “The Inexhaustible Chalice. "

Please send the names of your relatives and loved ones to hvcprayers@gmail.com.

The Prayer Service (Moleben) in English and Church Slavonic is scheduled for Tuesday, JANUARY 20th, at 7:10 PM after Evening Service!

With love in Christ,

Rev. George K.
